Growth

Promoters

Give each promoter a unique tracking link, see exactly who drove which sales, and grow your audience through people who know your crowd.

What Are Promoters

A promoter is someone who helps you sell tickets using their own personal tracking link. When a ticket is purchased through their link, that sale is automatically recorded against them so you can see exactly who drove the result.

Common uses for promoters:

  • Street teams: Local reps who promote events in their networks and communities
  • Influencers: Social media accounts that share your event link with their audience
  • Brand ambassadors: Ongoing partners who promote across multiple events
  • Venue staff: Staff who distribute links at a venue or location

Note on payments

Lapso tracks attribution and performance, but does not manage promoter payments or commissions. Any compensation arrangements you have with your promoters are handled outside the platform.

Adding a Promoter

To add a promoter:

  1. Go to the Promoters section of your dashboard.
  2. Click Add Promoter.
  3. Enter the promoter's name (for example, "Sarah Martinez"), a short promo code that will appear in their tracking link (for example, "sarah25"), and optionally assign them to an existing group or create a new one.
  4. Save. The promoter profile is created with their unique tracking link ready to copy and share.

The same promoter can be active across multiple events. Each event generates a separate tracking link for them.

Deleting a promoter

Deleting a promoter is permanent and removes all their historical data. Lapso will ask you to confirm twice before proceeding. If you only want to stop using them temporarily, simply stop sharing their link rather than deleting.

Promoter Groups

Groups let you organize promoters into named collections, for example "Summer Team", "Influencers", or "Venue Staff". Groups are useful when you want to:

  • Compare performance across a subset of promoters
  • Filter the promoter dashboard to show only one team at a time
  • Track a cohort of promoters across multiple events

To create a group:

  1. Go to the Promoters section in your dashboard.
  2. Create a new group and give it a name.
  3. Add promoters to the group. A promoter can belong to more than one group.

Once groups are set up, you can filter the promoter performance view by group to see only the results for that subset.

Viewing Performance

The promoters dashboard shows summary stats across all your promoters:

  • Total revenue attributed to promoters
  • Total tickets sold through tracking links
  • Number of active promoters
  • Average tickets sold per promoter

Click any promoter to open their detail panel, which shows their individual ticket count, revenue, and number of active events, along with a sales over time area chart so you can see when their link drove the most traffic.

Use the search bar to find a promoter by name or promo code. Use the group filter badges to narrow the view to a specific team. Performance data updates in real time as purchases come in.

Tips for Running a Promoter Program

  • Share links early: Give promoters their link as soon as the event is live so they can start promoting before early bird tickets sell out.
  • Make links easy to save: Ask promoters to save the link as a contact note, add it to their bio link, or bookmark it so they do not lose it.
  • Set clear expectations: Tell promoters upfront what you are tracking (orders and revenue) so they understand how performance is measured.
  • Check results regularly: Review the performance dashboard every few days during active promotion periods to see which promoters are gaining traction and which may need a follow-up.
  • Use groups to compare: If you use different types of promoters (e.g., paid influencers vs. volunteer street team), put them in separate groups so you can compare ROI across categories.
