Buying Tickets

From finding an event to getting your QR code: everything you need to know about buying tickets on Lapso.

Finding Events

Lapso is not an open marketplace. Events are found through the organizers who host them. Here are the most common ways to discover events:

  • Direct link: The organizer shares a link to the event page. This is the most common method. The link looks like lapso.app/events/event-name.
  • Organizer profile: Each organizer has a public profile page at lapso.app/username. Their upcoming events are listed there.
  • Social media: Organizers often share event links on Instagram, Twitter, or in group chats.

The Event Page

The event page shows you everything you need to decide whether to attend:

  • Event title and banner image
  • Date, time, and timezone
  • Venue name and address
  • Event description from the organizer
  • Available ticket tiers with prices and availability

If ticket sales are not yet open for a tier, the page shows when they will open. If a tier is sold out, it is marked accordingly.

Selecting Tickets

Ticket tiers are shown as physical ticket stubs on the event page. Tiers may carry badges like VIP, GATED, INVITE, or ADMIT to indicate their access level. Choose the tier you want and select the quantity (maximum 15 tickets per order).

For seated events, an interactive seat map appears before checkout. You can see which seats are available, hover over them to view row and seat number, and click to select your preferred seats. A timer counts down while your selected seats are held, so complete checkout before it expires.

Private and Invite-Only Events

Some events require approval before you can purchase tickets. When you visit a private event page, instead of seeing ticket tiers you will see an access request form.

  1. Enter your email address and click Check Access.
  2. If your email is already on the guest list, you proceed directly to ticket selection.
  3. If not, your request is sent to the organizer. They review it and approve or reject it from their dashboard.
  4. If approved, you receive a notification and can return to the event page to purchase your ticket.

For invitation-only events, the organizer may send you a personal link that grants immediate access to ticket selection without needing to submit a request.

Public Registration events

Some private-style events use Public Registration with an approval step. When you click to register, a form collects your first name, last name, email, and optionally your phone number along with SMS consent. The organizer then approves or rejects your registration.

Checkout and Payment

At checkout you will be asked to sign in if you are not already. Lapso supports three ways to sign in:

  • Email address (a 6-digit code is sent to your inbox)
  • Phone number (a 6-digit code is sent via SMS)
  • Google account

If you have used Lapso before with any of these methods, your account and purchase history carry over automatically.

After signing in, you will confirm your contact details (first name, last name, email, and phone). Your email is locked if you are already signed in. You will also see checkboxes for marketing and transactional SMS consent. Then enter your card details and complete the purchase.

If you have reward points with this organizer, an option to apply them as a discount appears before the payment step.

Reward points

Reward points are organizer-specific. If you have points from a previous event with this organizer, they will appear at checkout as a discount option. Learn more about the rewards program.

After Purchase

When your payment is confirmed, you land on the success page which reads "Your Tickets are Ready!" and tells you "We have sent you an email with your tickets to [your email]." Your QR code is displayed on-screen immediately.

  • You receive an order confirmation email with your QR code ticket attached. You can show the QR code directly from the email or print it.
  • Your order appears in the Orders section of your attendee dashboard.
  • The event is added to your upcoming events list in the dashboard.
  • If the organizer has rewards enabled, your points are credited to your account in pending status (they become available after the event ends).

On event day, show your QR code at the door from your phone screen or a printed copy. The door staff will scan it to check you in.

Mobile Experience

The entire ticket purchasing flow, from the event page to checkout to your QR code, works in a mobile browser without any app download.

  • Tap Buy Tickets on the event page
  • Select your tier and seats directly on your phone screen
  • Enter payment details using your phone's keyboard or autofill
  • Access your QR code from the confirmation email or your dashboard

Tip

Screenshot your QR code and save it to your photos before the event so you have it available even if you lose Wi-Fi at the venue.
